The Lugansk People’s Republic parliament plans to adopt a new constitution later this year, LPR parliament speaker, secretary of the “United Russia” political party’s Lugansk branch Denis Miroshnichenko said.
“We’ll be adopting the Constitution in November or December,” Russia’s news agency TASS quoted him as saying.
The new fundamental law will not differ much from its earlier version which has been in force in the Republic, he said.
“We adopted the Constitution within the framework of the Minsk negotiating process as an international legal entity. Today, the format is different, but the foundation laid by the previous Constitution eight years ago will remain the same,” he said.
Earlier, Miroshnichenko said that the authorities would draw a road map for the LPR’s transition into the legal space of the Russian Federation.
The Lugansk People’s Republic acceded to Russia on September 30, 2022, based on the results of the unification referendum.*i*v
