LPR parliament speaker joins Russian Council of Legislators commission on national security

Lugansk People’s Republic parliament speaker Denis Miroshnichenko has joined the Russian Council of Legislators commission on national security and anti-corruption fight, the LPR parliament press service reported.
 
“On December 6, the Commission met at the Federation Council in Moscow to address the issues of legislative support of national security and anti-corruption fight,” the press service said. “LPR parliament speaker Denis Miroshnichenko was included in the commission at the session.”
 
The Commission chairman, Republic of Bashkortostan parliament speaker Konstantin Tolkachev said that Miroshnichenko’s experience and knowledge would help the Commission “draw legislative initiatives aimed at strengthening the national defense capability.”
 
The participants in the session discussed improvement of Russian laws with the view of strengthening national security and sovereignty and resisting foreign interference in internal affairs. They also considered the legal principles of regional legislation in the field of sanitary and epidemiological well-being of the population.
The Commission then considered the practice of applying the federal law on citizens’ participation in public order protection, namely the involvement of Cossack communities and other associations in ensuring national security. The Commission heard a summary of the results of its yearly activities and approved the work plan for 2023.
 
Earlier, the LPR parliament press service reported that Miroshnichenko had arrived in Moscow to take part in Council of Legislators events.
 
The Council of Legislators’ key functions are to arrange interaction between regional parliaments and the Federal Assembly chambers, and determine the key guidelines for developing federal and regional legislation.
