LPR militia demines seven hectares in Popasnaya district over 24 hours

Military&Defence
Lugansk People’s Republic engineers demined more than seven hectares of territory next to the Toshkovka and Novotoshkovskoye townships in the Popasnaya district on December 4, LPR People’s Militia spokesman Ivan Filiponenko said.

“LPR militia engineer units continue mine clearance in the Republic,” Filiponenko said. “On December 4, they cleared more than seven hectares of territory of the explosive hazards left by Ukrainian nationalists in the Toshkovka and Novotoshkovskoye settlement areas in the Popasnaya district.”

The Ukrainian government launched the so-called anti-terrorist operation against Donbass in April 2014.  The peace talks that began soon thereafter failed to reach tangible results due to Kiev’s position to settle the conflict by force.

The Lugansk People’s Republic became a part of Russia on September 30, 2022 following the unification referendum.*i*ie
