LPR Health Ministry to resume elective care partially

The Lugansk People’s Republic Healthcare Ministry has decided to resume elective care partially, LPR Deputy Healthcare Minister Alexey Rukavishnikov said in the course of personal reception of citizens in Lugansk.

 

“We see the current international situation, and Lugansk residents feel its impact more than anyone,” Rukavishnikov said. “Nevertheless, Ministry personnel and doctors provide the necessary assistance. Furthermore, a decision has been made to resume elective care partially. I hope we’re moving in the right direction on the way towards integration with the Russian Federation.”

 

The deputy minister did not indicate the timeframe regarding elective care.

 

Earlier, LPR Healthcare Minister Natalia Paschenko said that the bulk of the hospital bed stock had been dedicated to wounded servicemen and that scheduled hospitalization and treatment of civilians had been stopped. She assured that emergency medical assistance was provided to the LPR population to the full extent.

 

On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a special military operation to protect Donbass residents from Ukrainian aggression. Prior to that, LPR and DPR Heads Leonid Pasechnik and Denis Pushilin asked the Russian leader to provide military assistance. The LPR militia and Russian armed forces fully liberated the LPR territory from Ukrainian armed formations on July 3.

 

The Lugansk People’s Republic became a part of Russia on September 30, 2022 following the unification referendum.*i*ie
