LPR foreign trade turnover increases by 1.8 times in seven months - Ministry

The Lugansk People’s Republic foreign trade turnover increased by 1.8 times in the first seven months of of this year, the LPR Economic Development Ministry press service reported.
 
“The Republic’s foreign trade turnover exceeded the figure for the same period last year by 1.8; in July, the total foreign trade value increased by 1.9 year on year,” the press service said noting “positive trends in export/import operations.”
 
Earlier, LPR State Customs Committee chairman Yury Afanasyevsky said that in 2021, LPR increased export/import operations by 3.2 percent from the previous year.
 
The LPR State Customs Committee press office said that the Izvarino checkpoint allowed a record 31,000 vehicles to cross into Russia in August.
On February 21, 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin recognized the sovereignty of the Lugansk and Donetsk People’s Republics. He asked the Federal Assembly to support this decision and then ratify a friendship and mutual assistance treaty with the Donbass Republics.
