The Lugansk People’s Republic and the Donetsk People’s Republic will create common economic and customs space which conforms to the Russian legislation, LPR Head Leonid Pasechnik said at a video conference with DPR authorities’ representatives.

Earlier, the LPR and DPR authorities adopted the programs of socio-economic development of the Republics for 2022-2024.

“Of course, we are facing another big and massive task - to create common economic space and common customs space. To this end, we’ll have to harmonize the legislations of our Republics which will conform to the legislation of the Russian Federation. “It is important, necessary and challenging work which we will have to carry through,” Pasechnik said.

The declaration on the results of the inter-state meeting noted that the DPR and the LPR “express their resolve to strengthen and develop economic cooperation in the key bilateral issues, in the first place by establishing common economic space.”

The parties will coordinate their efforts, exchange experience and information in the sphere of economy and customs and tax regulation. With this view, “they agreed to harmonize their legislations in these spheres,” according to the document. *i*b
