Local newspapers launched in all LPR regions

Local newspapers are now published in every LPR administrative-territorial district, the Ministry of Mass Communications said.

"Thanks to the State Unitary Enterprise of the "Luganmedia" and with the support of the Ministry of Mass Communications of the LPR, all 29 administrative-territorial units of the Lugansk People's Republic have their own regional newspapers," the statement reads.

In particular, on August 12, the first issues of new newspapers were distributed in Troitsk, Novoaydar and Belokurakino districts.

The Ministry said that newspapers will be distributed free of charge in the liberated territories for three months.

The Republic declared the full liberation of its territory on July 3, as Ukrainian forces were driven away from their last pocket in Lisichansk, shorty after LPR forces liberated Severodonetsk that used to be the main hideout of Ukrainian militants.

Ukraine has been carrying out a military crackdown against Donbass since 2014. Multiple announcements of ceasefires failed to stabilize the situation. The simmering armed conflict escalated rapidly in February this year, and sent Donbass barrelling towards an unprecedented bloodshed.

Russia intervened on February 24 by launching a special military operation to demilitarize Ukraine and bring peace back to Donbass. *t
