Kiev's abolishment of Minsk Agreements might thwart political world order - Deinego

Ukraine's possible withdrawal from the Minsk process will have an impact on the entire political world order, the LPR Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladislav Deinego said speaking at the "Minsk process: reality and tendencies" round table organized in the Russian Tass News Agency.

"The consequences (of Ukraine's possible abolition of the Minsk Agreements) would affect the entire world order, because all the key mechanisms of the settlement and international law would be dashed."

He said that the move might "challenge the efficacy of the mechanism behind the Minsk Agreements".

"If they are non-functional, than basically everything that could stabilize similar situations is non-functional. There will be a chain reaction," Deinego elaborated.

The Ukrainian government launched the so-called anti-terrorist operation against Donbass in April 2014. Conflict settlement relies on the Package of Measures for the Implementation of the Minsk Agreements, signed on February 12, 2015 in the Belarussian capital by the Contact Group members and coordinated by the Normandy Four heads of states (Russia, Germany, France and Ukraine). The document provides for ceasefire and withdrawal of heavy weapons from the contact line. *t*s
