Kiev forces jam OSCE UAVs 11 times over the week

Military&Defence

Kiev forces jammed unmanned aerial vehicles of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission in 11 separate incidents during this week, the LPR People’s Militia commander Yan Leschenko said at a press briefing.

"Eleven incidents involving jamming OSCE aerial vehicles by Ukrainian army were recorded this week".

Electronic warfare units jammed SMM's UAVs outside nine townships.

The Ukrainian government launched the so-called anti-terrorist operation against Donbass in April 2014. Conflict settlement relies on the Package of Measures for the Implementation of the Minsk Agreements, signed on February 12, 2015 in the Belarussian capital by the Contact Group members and coordinated by the Normandy Four heads of states (Russia, Germany, France and Ukraine). The document provides for ceasefire and withdrawal of heavy weapons from the contact line.

Employing combat aviation and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) in 30km-wide zone along the line of contact is banned under Article 7 of Minsk Memorandum, with the exception to OSCE SMM UAVs. *t
