Kiev forces jam OSCE SMM unmanned aerial vehicle outside Katerinovka

Kiev army used radio electronic warfare systems to jam an unmanned aerial vehicle of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission in the Katerinovka area, said LPR People's Militia.

"Mobile electronic warfare squads of 20th separate electronic warfare battalion used a Bukovel-AD system against SMM's UAV outside Katerinovka to prevent it from recording violations of the Ukrainian 24th brigade."

The LPR militia repeatedly reported the use of radio electronic warfare equipment by Kiev forces to interfere with the activity of OSCE SMM monitors in the so-called “Joint Forces Operation” zone.

The Ukrainian government launched the so-called anti-terrorist operation against Donbass in April 2014. Conflict settlement relies on the Package of Measures for the Implementation of the Minsk Agreements, signed on February 12, 2015 in the Belarussian capital by the Contact Group members and coordinated by the Normandy Four heads of states (Russia, Germany, France and Ukraine). The document provides for ceasefire and withdrawal of heavy weapons from the contact line.

Employing combat aviation and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) in 30km-wide zone along the line of contact is banned under Article 7 of Minsk Memorandum, with the exception to OSCE SMM UAVs. *t
