Kiev forces used radio electronic warfare equipment to interfere with the operation of OSCE Special Monitoring Mission unmanned aerial vehicles in three settlement areas, the Lugansk People’s Republic People’s Militia press service reported.
“In the Gorskoye and Zolotoye-2 settlement areas, as well as in the security zones in the Stanitsa Luganskaya and Zolotoye areas located in the responsibility zones of the Ukrainian army’s 79th and 24th Brigades, mobile groups of 20th Radioelectronic Warfare Battalion used a Bukovel-AD system to jam OSCE Mission’s UAVs to prevent the detection of military hardware deployed in these areas,” the report said.
The Ukrainian government launched the so-called anti-terrorist operation against Donbass in April 2014. Conflict settlement relies on the Package of Measures for the Implementation of the Minsk Agreements, signed on February 12, 2015 in the Belarussian capital by the Contact Group members and coordinated by the Normandy Four heads of states (Russia, Germany, France and Ukraine). The document provides for ceasefire and withdrawal of heavy weapons from the contact line.*i
