The field team of the Interdepartmental  Group on the search for burial sites of Ukrainian aggression victims, identification and perpetuation of their memory (MRG) has found bodies of Kiev servicemen in Popasnaya who were abandoned by their retreating colleagues in the spring of 2022.

“The field team has found remains of gunmen from Ukrainian armed formations abandoned by their “brothers-in-arms” in the battlefield during retreat. The bodies will be handed over to Ukraine in an exchange of killed servicemen,” the MRG said on Telegram.

LPR militia units entered Popasnaya in early March 2022 and then methodically cleared the town of separate groups of Kiev forces and nationalistic battalions members, pushing the enemy into the northwestern part. The town had come under full control of the People’s Militia by May 9.
