First batch of LPR residents receive SNILS numbers in Gukovo

As of mid-June, 2021, over 250,000 LPR residents had obtained fast track Russian citizenship. SNILS allows its holder to sign up for government services and apply for them online.

LPR residents with Russian passports have received their Individual Insurance Account Number (SNILS) today in a state services center in Gukovo, Rostov region, Russia.

Lugansk Media Center correspondent reports that 45 LPR residents arrived this morning to the Gukovo Palace of Culture, where the state services center is based.

LPR migration service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs started accepting applications for a fast track issue of SNILS and registration at the Russian website for state services on July 1.

LPR Head Leonid Pasechnik said that the Republic’s Migration Service would streamline the SNILS and registration procedures for LPR residents.

On April, 24, 2019, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree easing citizenship rules for residents of the Lugansk People’s Republic and the Donetsk People’s Republic. The first centre for LPR residents seeking Russian citizenship opened in Lugansk on May 6. On June 14, the first group of LPR residents was granted fast track Russian citizenship. The Republic currently has such centres in all towns and districts. On April 24, 2020, Putin signed the law exempting Donbass Republics residents from paying the state fee for conferment of citizenship.
