Energy companies’ branches will begin full-fledged operation in the new Russian regions in the nearest future to implement the fuel and energy sector development program in 2023-2025, Russian Energy Minister Nikolai Shulginov said in the course of his visit to the Donetsk People’s Republic.

Shulginov said that Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin had supported the program to develop the fuel and energy sector of the Lugansk and Donetsk People’s Republics and Kherson and Zaporozhye regions at the recent government meeting over the integration of the new regions, which also estimated the amount of funding for the program.

The establishment of energy companies’ branches in the new regions is an important stage of the three-year program, focused on effective operation of energy facilities, equipment upgrade and repairs and operations control, he said.

“The companies must complete preparations in the nearest future for launching full-fledged operation of their branches to rebuild the damaged infrastructure and provide stable electricity supply to the customers,” the Energy Ministry press service quoted Shulginov as saying.
