Children wounded during special military operation to enjoy special status

The children wounded in the course of the special military operation will be granted a special status and entitled to benefits, said Presidential Commissioner for Children’s Rights in Russia Maria Lvova-Belova.

 

“The president (Russian President Vladimir Putin) has supported (the introduction of) this status; dedicated agencies are working on it,” TASS quoted Lvova-Belova as saying on the sidelines of a career guidance festival in Yekaterinburg. “I believe the government will soon release a resolution on the mechanism of identifying such children and paying all fringe benefits and allowances.”

 

Earlier, she called for introducing a special status for some 1,000 children who were wounded during the special military operation, as well as special guarantees for them and their families. 

 

The Ukrainian government launched the so-called anti-terrorist operation against Donbass in April 2014.  The peace talks that began soon thereafter failed to reach tangible results due to Kiev’s position to settle the conflict by force.

 

On February 24, 2022 Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a special military operation to protect Donbass residents from Ukrainian aggression. Prior to that, LPR and DPR Heads Leonid Pasechnik and Denis Pushilin asked the Russian leader to provide military assistance.
