Kiev forces have shelled Lisichansk destroying the building of the sauna and recreation center and damaging several homes, the Town Hall reported on its Telegram channel.
“Today, at around 3:00 a.m., Ukrainian artillery delivered a strike at the town. An absolutely peaceful facility took a hit,” the report said. “It’s the building of the Volna sauna and recreation center which had repeatedly come under fire and was last shelled a month ago. Several single family homes nearby have been damaged. There have been no civilian casualties.”
“The regular artillery attacks at civil and social facilities evidence the terrorist essence of Ukraine,” the Lisichansk administration said.
The Ukrainian government launched the so-called anti-terrorist operation against Donbass in April 2014. The peace talks that began soon thereafter failed to reach tangible results due to Kiev’s position to settle the conflict by force.
The Lugansk People’s Republic joined Russia on September 30, 2022, based on the results of the unification referendum.*i*v
