Almost 16,000 young people have applied to Lugansk People’s Republic universities, the LPR Education and Science Ministry press service reported.
“University applications have closed in the Lugansk People’s Republic. Overall, 15,863 prospective students have applied to LPR higher education centers,” the press service said adding that entrance examinations were about to start.
The Ministry reported 1,852 prospective students from liberated areas and 42 from Ukraine.
University applications in the LPR opened on June 26. Prospective students were given the opportunity to apply online.
The LPR has seven universities: Vladimir Dal Lugansk State University, Lugansk State Pedagogical University, Lugansk State Agrarian University, St Luke Lugansk State Medical University, Mikhail Matusovsky Lugansk State Academy of Culture and Arts, Edvard Didorenko Lugansk State Academy of Interior Affairs and Donbass State Technical Institute (in Alchevsk). *i*s
