All checkpoints between Donbass and Russian regions to increase throughput by September

Society
Throughput capacity of all checkpoints between Donbass and Russian regions will increase by September, Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin said at the Mariupol tram service resumption ceremony.

President Vladimir Putin greeted the participants via video link.

“We’ll enlarge all these crossings by September, and increase the capacity of another six according to your instructions; work is already underway,” Khusnullin told Putin.

The Gukovo checkpoint on the administrative boundary with the Lugansk People’s Republic will be upgraded as well. The president earlier noted the Gukovo facility problem saying that crossings clearly had to increase their capacity.

Putin also said that there were many traffic management problems in other areas.

After his visit to the Lugansk People’s Republic Putin instructed Khusnullin to urgently deal with the issue of road widening and road repairs in the Gukovo checkpoint area on the border between the Rostov region and the LPR.

The Lugansk People’s Republic acceded to Russia on September 30, 2022 following the unification referendum.*i*ie
