Agricultural safety watchdog quarantines 11 ragweed zones in LPR

The Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Supervision (Rosselkhoznadzor) for the Lugansk People’s Republic has quarantined 11 areas to prevent the spread of ragweed.
 
"To ensure plant health in the Republic, Rosselkhoznadzor inspectors are monitoring the phytosanitary condition of quarantined territory for the first time since 2014,” a Rosselkhoznadzor representative said. "The quarantine applies to 11 zones covering 1,988.5887 hectares."
 
Ragweed spread in Ukraine and southwestern Russia in the beginning of the 21st century. Its pollen causes hay fever. *i*ie
