40 incentives for farmers, five state programs to be launched in LPR by 2025 - Pasechnik
BusinessMore than 40 measures to support agribusinesses and five state programs will be available in the Lugansk People’s Republic by 2025, said LPR Acting Head Leonid Pasechnik.
“The priority is to make all incentives currently in effect in other regions available to our producers,” Pasechnik told Stanichno-Lugansky district farmers. Their meeting, attended LPR Agriculture Minister Yevgeny Sorokin and parliamentarian Zinaida Naden was part of the “Russian village” project implemented by the “United Russia” political party.
In addition to direct subsidies, the authorities are launching preferential loans and lease of agricultural machinery through the Rosagroleasing corporation this year, while in 2024, preferential investment loans and grants for small business will be introduced, he said.
“Another priority is to transfer of untitled land into the ownership of local councils which can lease it to producers, and compensate the costs of plough land cultivation,” Pasechnik went on to say.
The objective is to use 100 percent of cultivated land, he said.
Pasechnik and farmers also discuss outstanding problems such as higher logistics costs because of the blocked railway to the Olkhovka grain storage facility.
“I ordered the Transport Ministry to submit a report on the rail link situation,” the LPR leader said. ”There’ll be no red tape in the provision of incentives or subsidies to farmers. Undiligent officials will be held responsible.”

President Vladimir Putin earlier ordered the government to adopt extra measures to support agribusinesses in the new regions to boost production.
LPR farmers will be able to use concessional lending program to lease equipment in 2023, said the Republic’s Agriculture and Food Minister Yevgeny Sorokin.
In mid-April, Pasechnik announced that Rosagroleasing mobile offices would be launched in the Republic in the near future. The LPR agricultural potential can enable it to become a key region in ensuring Russia’s food security, he said.
