26,000 LPR voters take part in “United Russia” primaries on first day

Voter turnout in the Lugansk People’s Republic on the first day of the preliminary election to select candidates from the “United Russia” political party for the September elections has reached 26,000, said Head of the "United Russia” Central Executive Committee Alexander Sidyakin who supervises elections in the new regions.
 
In the Donetsk People’s Republic, voter turnout reached 27,000 on the first day, in the Kherson region 4,500 and in the Zaporozhye region 1,500, Sidyakin said.
 
The voting is taking place as planned amid safety measures; no violations have been recorded, he added.
 
“United Russia” has been holding preliminary voting online since May 22; onsite voting will start from May 26. The Republic opened special e-voting points where volunteers help people register at the election website in order to be able to vote. One of such points at Lugansk School No 60 is open from 08:00 to 20:00.

On March 7, 2023, the political council of the party’s regional branch initiated preparations for primary voting. The party’s press service reported the start of voter registration on April 17. The registration ended on April 27; the information about the candidates is available on the Party’s website.
 
Overall, 832 candidates registered for “United Russia” primaries.
 
The preliminary voting organized by the “United Russia” political party (ER) will help the Lugansk People’s Republic build a candidate pool for all levels of powers, said LPR Acting Head Leonid Pasechnik.
 
Central Election Commission chairperson Ella Pamfilova said that the CEC had been making scheduled preparations for elections on Single Voting Day on September 10.*i*v
