20 doctors on secondment to LPR, DPR - Moscow City Hall

More than 20 doctors in various fields of medicine have been sent to the Donbass Republics on temporary duty, the Moscow mayor’s official website reported.
 
“Another multidisciplinary team of doctors from leading Moscow hospitals are on duty travel to the Lugansk and Donetsk People’s Republics. More than 20 surgeons of various specialties, orthopedic traumatologists,  intensivists, psychiatrists, psychologists and other specialists will provide consultations and methodological and practical assistance to their colleagues in the new regions,” the report said.
 
Specialists of some 30 Moscow medical centers work in the Donbass Republics on a regular basis.
 
“Moscow doctors help residents in Donetsk and Lugansk hospitals in emergencies and on a scheduled basis, perform surgeries in their professional fields, take part in case conferences, consult their colleges in patient treatment and observation. “Overall, doctors from Moscow have performed more than 4,000 surgeries in the DPR and LPR,” the website said.
 
The Moscow City Hall said that specialists from Moscow help their colleagues to introduce and use new methods in patient treatment. For example, doctors of the Lugansk Republican Children’s Clinical Hospital take internship at Moscow’s Clinical and Research Institute of Emergency Pediatric Surgery and Trauma. They receive instruction in several fields such as pediatric surgery, pediatric neurosurgery, pediatric traumatology, anesthesiology, resuscitation, x-ray diagnostics and pediatric urology.
 
The Lugansk People’s Republic became a part of Russia on September 30, 2022 following the unification referendum.*i*v
