Ukrainian artillery strikes killed 18 people and wounded more than 50 in the Lugansk People’s Republic in November, LPR ombudsperson Viktoria Serdyukova wrote on Telegram.

“Eighteen people were killed and 52 were wounded in Ukrainian armed formations’ artillery strikes at the Lugansk People’s Republic from November 1 through November 30,” Serdyukova said.

More than 170 houses and civil infrastructure facilities and about ten cars were damaged in the designated period, she added.

“The figures can actually be larger because the information from areas which are regularly shelled by Ukrainian armed formations only comes after fact-finding inspections and is included in later updates,” the ombudsperson said.

LPR prosecutors are checking the reported facts.

The LPR Office at the Joint Centre for Control and Coordination of issues related to Ukraine’s war crimes (JCCC) reported that 564 civilians in the Republic have become victims of Ukrainian armed aggression since the beginning of the special military operation (SVO) on February 24; of those, 141 were killed and 423 were wounded.

The Ukrainian government launched the so-called anti-terrorist operation against Donbass in April 2014.  The peace talks that began soon thereafter failed to reach tangible results due to Kiev’s position to settle the conflict by force.

On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a special military operation to protect Donbass residents from Ukrainian aggression. Prior to that, LPR and DPR Heads Leonid Pasechnik and Denis Pushilin asked the Russian leader to provide military assistance. The LPR militia and Russian armed forces fully liberated the LPR territory from Ukrainian armed formations on July 3.

The Lugansk People’s Republic became a part of Russia on September 30, 2022 following the unification referendum.*i*ie
